About Beating the Bounds

Blog Scope

From 2004-2013, I wrote posts on my Digital Reference blog, limiting myself to topics that related to all aspects and modes of reference services. This blog, started in 2009, is where I post mostly shorter posts about all sorts of library-related topics that have caught my attention, particularly those that relate to:

  • information literacy
  • copyright and fair use
  • open access
  • usability and user experience in libraries
  • web design
  • information retrieval
  • web technologies
  • metadata
  • acquisitions

  1. Hello Stephen,
Just a quick thank you for sharing your knowledge so generously! I’ve just started my first role in service development / design, and reading your last two blog posts (recommended by my manager) has helped me understand the analytical approach that I need to internalise, and inspired me to dive deeper.
    Best wishes,
    Anna
